What is Pipeline for Windows?
Pipeline for Windows is an ActiveX component that allows Windows programs written in VB, C++, or ASP to request and receive data from CICS programs.
After downloading and running the setup program, developers can use the Component Manager in VB or C++ to add Pipeline controls to current projects.
Pipeline assists developers by providing methods for requesting and receiving data. It also provides methods for controlling session and state variables for passing data between Windows programs or for passing data to and from CICS programs. And, Pipeline gives developers methods to allow applications to verify users against mainframe security systems.
Upon receiving CICS data in XML or any other format, Windows programs can process and distribute CICS data using standard components.
