Calculator #1 - Cost of downtime for those locking out their user community to run batch by closing CICS files.

This Cost of Downtime calculator considers the impact of a single application's lack of availability to the user community by multiplying the number of times the application files are closed each day by the number of minutes these files are closed. Multiplying this figure by the number of people impacted, based on their average wage, determines the Cost of Downtime per day, per month and per year.

Calculator #2 - Cost of downtime if you have applications that do not finish processing before the CICS address spaces are supposed to come back up.

This Cost of Downtime calculator considers the financial impact of locking users out of applications while they wait for a batch job to complete. The number of times per year that a batch job is not finished processing when CICS users need access to their applications is multiplied by the number of minutes they are impacted. Multiplying this figure by the number of people impacted, based on their average wage, determines the cost of downtime per day, per month, and per year.

Calculator #3 - Cost of downtime if you have contract applications/systems people coming in extra hours to work with batch programs because they cannot access the CICS address space during normal work hours.

This Cost of Downtime calculator considers the financial impact associated with contract applications/systems personnel working off-hours with batch programs because they cannot have access to the CICS address space(s) during regular operating hours. This cost is determined by multiplying the number of times per year these personnel come in after hours by the number of individuals and the average time per incident. This figure is then multiplied by the average wage of these individuals to determine the cost of downtime per day, per month, and per year.
