Our partnership with IBM
At H&W Computer Systems, we have a need to run z/VM, z/OS, and z/VSE onsite. When IBM announced the IBM Z On-Premises Development (ZOPD) program, we realized that our best solution was to obtain an IBM LinuxONE system and install ZVDT software.
The IBM LinuxONE system is real IBM Z hardware with access to the full IBM Z architecture and instruction set. Because of this, our on-premises software development and support can continue with a significant boost in performance, without a major budget impact.
H&W has been an IBM Business Partner for decades. IBM LinuxONE is the latest chapter in that relationship, and it lets a company of our size keep enterprise-class development and support capability in house.
